PROFINET is one of the many interfaces that KROHNE offers in addition to our other products.
Besides PROFINET, there are also other interfaces such as PROFIBUS, Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus, Bluetooth, etc.
But, why do we need interfaces?
Interfaces enable us to transport data from sensors installed in the field to customer systems like programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems and other monitoring control systems.
Introduced to the process industry only a few years ago, PROFINET is one of the latest interfaces and is based on industrial Ethernet.
